I'd love to be able to keep my rifle or compound bow and maybe bring back some iron or something to help jump start next mission. They also could've taken a cue from Escape from Tarkov, where I can only take back with me so much stuff, to store in my locker in orbit, and then again only so much room to take with me back to planet so like they suggested the drop ship acts as a bottleneck, however as it stands theres nothing worthwhile in the orbital workshop that I give two ♥♥♥♥♥ about needing on my next drop. Again these things could be things to aim for but they don't exist, lore wise you could be a amateur prospector who the company sees as expendable, but as you complete missions for them you'd gain access to better gear to take with you. Space fairing civilization, with ability to terraform planets, but lack any advance weapons tech. I can get nano carbon armor but best ranged weapon is a recurve bow not even a compound or better yet an advance rifle. I don't mind rebuilding a shelter and having to build certain things, I do mind is fact I'm not able to save anything from previous journey such as an advance bow or rifle, the gist is well you'd buy equipment from the station, except its all junk and also doesn't make any sense lore wise. Talents don't seem to really make an impact, the tech tree is a mess and ♥♥♥♥♥ all out of order, and then there's the orbital workshop, what a joke. This lack of focus also shows in the way they do the sessions and character development. They could've had an end-game goal like earning your character a ticket back home or using the exotic materials to refuel a ship again to get back home. Which I was like cool I'm a space miner, but the way they've laid the game out is stupid and boring and pointless long term. Idea is you are prospector for agencies to mine exotic materials. Sadly no, they dropped the ball hard when they designed this game. PS: the devs are working on a fishing rod item? i can catch fish in 2 seconds with bows and arrows made of scrap, why would i need an item that do the same but slower?! this game needs better direction I dont know how active the devs are, i just hope they listen to the community because in its current state there's no point in playing past the initial few hours. Survival games are about surviving for a long time, expanding your knowledge and your bases and gradually becoming more powerful and savvy while fighting more and more extreme enemies and weather. clearly the devs are fans of survival games and roguelikes and tried mixing the 2. what's the drive to play any mission at all? everything we do is scrapped as soon as we finish a mission so what's the point? who wants to gather copper for 4 hours to build advanced crafting stations only to lose it all as soon as our mission dings? So my question is: what's the point of the game? what are we doing? who are we helping? the missions are clearly not doing a single thing for the world below us or the base above us. every item is meaningless, useless or redundant.Ĭompleting missions also change nothing in the world and change nothing on your orbital base, which you cant explore btw, it's just a menu. outside of a suit that allows you to slot food, oxygen and water canisters on it there's no functionally different items in the entire pre mission shop. So, been playing for a few days and it's dawned on me that there's no goal to the game.Įvery single base you build is deleted immediately after finishing any mission.Īll the ores you gather from caves (btw searching for ore caves is 75% of the game's entire gameplay) is lost too.įinishing missions gives you an x currency that unlocks stuff outside of missions, but the stuff you unlock is meaningless as you have to start building a base from scratch every single mission you initiate.
